Records to be kept and used for planning repairs and prioritizing issues.

Fire Wood Committee

Involves acquiring/bucking/stacking firewood for designated park campfire areas.

Everyone loves to sit around the fire pit at the lakeside, so our woodpile needs to be replenished for these lovely evenings!

This job entails: finding free firewood, checking online adverts i.e. Castanet.net classified ads.

Any wood will do provided it is not painted or pressure-treated (these give off toxic fumes which are dangerous to inhale).

Bottle Collection

Involves collecting bottles from recycle area and returning to depot for cash.

The money goes back into community projects and buys items such as beach chairs, shrubs, etc.

Litter

Involves picking-up litter in common areas and roadways.

This is a great way to get some exercise by walking around and sweeping up debris that’s been thrown or tossed aside!

Please do your part by not littering. There are public garbage bins for disposal.

Communications

Periodically there is a need to communicate specific information; sometimes an emergency may occur, or a boil water advisory needs to be distributed quickly.

This involves door to door delivery of the given alert or notice; also updating this website under 'ALERT' details.

To assist good communication, there is also a need to update and maintain a current owners and residents list, which includes details of renters.

This job involves canvassing all owners at least once a year for current contact information.

As people move in and out of the community, there is a need to collect new contact details.

Our local realtors can also help with this project as properties turn over.

General Help

If you are not sure where your talent lies, try all of them or some of them for a short while!

Please contact Council and say you’d like to “help with something” - they will help you choose which job needs more people, or is due to start shortly.
